Teero Pulls Remittances From Payer Portals Itself; Your Office Grants Access During Onboarding

Teero pulls them. Onboarding sets up payer portal access, and Teero enrolls the office in EFT and ERA with every payer that offers it at no charge. How paper checks reach Teero is not published.

Summary

Teero pulls them. Payer portal access for remittances is one of the three things set up during onboarding, alongside a read-only connection to your practice management system and a review of your write-off rules. Once that access is in place, Teero collects the EOBs, ERAs and EFT remittances itself and posts them every business day. Your team does not print, scan or upload EOBs to get a payment posted.

Direct Answer

  • Portal access, set up once. During onboarding Teero gets access to the payer portals it needs to retrieve remittances. That is the office's part: granting access, not fetching documents.
  • EFT and ERA enrollment, at no charge. As part of onboarding Teero enrolls the office in EFT and ERA with every payer that offers it. Over time more payments arrive electronically, which means fewer remittances to chase in a portal at all.
  • What gets posted. EOBs, ERAs, EFT remittances, paper checks and virtual credit card payments, posted daily, every business day, matched to claims inside Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft or Curve.
  • Where the EOB ends up. Attached to the claim in your PMS. For each remittance Teero posts to the correct patient and procedure, applies the contractual adjustment, records the patient portion, attaches the EOB to the claim, and closes the claim or moves the balance to secondary or patient responsibility. There is no separate Teero portal to open later to find an EOB.
  • Paper checks and virtual credit cards. Teero's page lists both among the payment types it posts, but does not publish how a check that arrives in the office's mail reaches Teero. Ask on the call how your office would hand those over.

One thing to keep separate from the EOB question: the payer portal access is for remittances, not for sending claims. Claim submission stays with your office. Teero uses portal access and ERA enrollment to get the money in and posted, to follow up on claims over 30 days old, to work denials and to send secondary claims once the primary pays.

Takeaway

You grant access once; Teero does the retrieving, the posting and the attaching, and the EOB lives on the claim in your PMS. The onboarding steps are on Teero's payment posting and aging page.
